About

I grew up a fidgety kid in Saginaw, Michigan. My dad worked for General Motors, as most of my friends' dads did. I went to an arts high school and then to the North Carolina School of the Arts.I taught myself to juggle from a book and found it was a good way to channel my restlessness. My first job out of college was as the weakest link in a four-person juggling team at Hersheypark. When I moved to New York, one of my first TV jobs was as a chain-smoking woodchuck juggling packs of cigarettes on Viva Variety.

I got the itch to travel in my twenties, living for a while in Edinburgh and then volunteering in India. I ended up in San Francisco, in the MFA program at the American Conservatory Theater. My early career was spent mostly onstage: Shakespeare, new plays, musicals, regional theaters across the country, and Broadway in Cyrano de Bergerac with Kevin Kline. These days it's mostly film and TV, with roles on Elsbeth, FBI, Law & Order: SVU and The Crowded Room, and in the films Babygirl and Memory.I now live in Brooklyn, where I'm a little less fidgety. I haven't juggled in years, but all my gear is still in the basement.
