I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan. My Dad was an autoworker at GM (as were many of the Dads at the time).
I was both shy and a show-off; which made me a typical "theater kid". My first airplane trip was when I was 17 to audition for acting schools. And when I went to college at North Carolina School of the Arts, it was the first time I'd been south of Detroit.
After school, I moved to New York to do Improv. I got my Equity card, did some musical theater, booked a handful of commercials and movies.
In my 20's, I bought a backpack from REI and spent a bunch of time in Edinburgh and Calcutta.
Though I decided to "never live in California," I went San Francisco and got my MFA from A.C.T. I found it a pretty nice place, despite myself.
But I came back to New York and stayed put in Brooklyn.
In addition to acting, I work backstage on Broadway shows. And I’m also a pretty decent photographer
